Like I wrote in the slides, I've made a very hard decision, I have to sell off my inventory & close down.
Poshmark just isn't the same fun place for me anymore & it's making me broke instead of stable like it always did!
☆ I know a lot of my friends will tell me to just do the live shows & it will be fine.
But, that's not how I want to run a business.
Sitting in front of my phone talking to people I can't see, trying to read messages on a small device. Assuming a lot of people come.
That's like starting a brand new business & starting a new business takes a lot of time that I simply don't have the money to wait it out.
My friends on here know I'm a disabled single mom with Many medical issues without any family, so I have no one to reach out to for help.

@house_of_tara My sales slowed down last year when they were messing with the search but not too bad. I was still getting sales every day. But the live shows came in & just turned The Poshmark I loved upside down! people selling stuff so low, devaluing the brand, but more importantly changing the mindset of the customers, they now seem to want things almost free most of the time. Starting this business saved me!

@house_of_tara I was deemed disabled in 2013, and the Dr's took my Dr. license away because of my seizures (I get it but talk about losing your independence), I was pretty healthy before 2012. my son passed in Oct 2015, it was an accident, her was with his father for the weekend & crossing the street & one of the wheels fell off his skate board, he fell & a lady driving an SUV couldn't stop in time, he was hit & ran over, only 11 years old.

@house_of_tara After my seizures started I couldn't do my photography anymore & I was so depressed about my son. I don't remember how I ran across Poshmark, but once I started, I felt stronger. My other kids needed me, and the abuse was getting worse, so working hard on Poskmark allowed me to save enough money to take my kids & run❣️

@house_of_tara I've worked so hard to build my store, then added another & then another. Running games & share groups, I was able to make alot of friends & help people. I built my stores well enough that I was making many sales a day & we were surviving. Fast forward to now after these stupid shows, I rarely get sales.
But I promise you that if I can somehow get my sales going again, I'll stay!

I am so sad reading this 😢😔 I’m sorry to hear about all that you’re dealing with you. I absolutely agree with you about the live shows. They’re not for everyone and I feel the same way about trying to interact through comments and not actual people. I’m not crazy about the changes posh has been making and wish they’d consider different perspectives on the matter.

As sellers, we can’t give our stuff away. If you go into a store and see an item for $65, would you ask them to mark it down to $5 Of course not! And that seems to be some people’s expectations because of the shows.

@house_of_tara I completely agree with you, the shows have created new hoops to jump through and punishes those that don’t want or feel comfortable doing them. What’s worse is how they’re always being promoted above everything else. Perhaps there is something we can do to express our frustrations. A letter writing campaign? I suspect there’s a lot of sellers that feel this way but just feel pressured to go along. But change has to start from somewhere.

Hey Moon, I just want to say I understand your situation completely. Sometimes those of us with difficulties just want to hear that someone understands. I feel the same way. I’m not on social media at all and that’s basically what the live shows are to me, a popularity contest, and a total flee market. @moongoddessedgy As soon as I'm cross-listing just to get rid of stuff, I tore my rotator cuff!! And the skies opened up and God said "I hate you, Rachel." ~Big Sigh~ Wish I could afford to just have someone pack it up and donate. Quite literally about 3 years of SSDI went into this closet; I was staying with my parents then. Feb 01 I got my place and I'm really feeling this. I get emails to become a host, but even my Neurologist is like "No ma'am." I should tell him to buy it lol

@phoenix_55 I feel the same. I was getting orders daily but once the beta program started my sales dropped to nearly nothing. I have spent hours following and sharing just to get my business going then see it fall apart in the blink of an eye. Their sales platform has gone to poo. Now they’re starting a promoted listing buy up. Posh was unique now it’s difficult to sell anything on here. Best of luck to all.

I actually wrote a comment on @/pm_editor live post about it quite a while back trying to get Manish’s attention about this. I this lives are changing this platform in a negative way. It’s driving the prices of everything down.

@moongoddessedgy If you are neurodivergent and/or have trouble speaking in front of others; have difficulty dealing with others socially; have difficulty dealing with the fast pace of lives and dealing with bullying and heckling for lower prices- lives will be very difficult you! It can be positive if people support each other, but quite negative if people are just out to get the lowest possible price to re-sale and get competitive. 💔 I haven’t even been approved to do lives yet, and I’m not sure how I feel about it all. @erinmevans The low start shows are another reason, how are these people making money when they are selling stuff for $3 $4 $5,? Imagine how many things you would have to sell after poshs $2.95 fee to make money, plus do you really want to spend all the time it takes to package things up in pain for 5 cents?? IDK about other poshers but I still always write a hand written note with every package. Wrap things.. I'm, just so lost for words you know... 💜 💜 💜 I'm here for you my friend!!

@moongoddessedgy I so agree. I’m struggling in my daily life PM was a way for me to get a little farther ahead. I have 1000s of items that aren’t even listed & I have no desire to even try to. Between depression, anxiety, herniated disc in my neck causing pressure on my spinal cord, diabetes, liver disease & chronic pain it takes me so much time to get everything listed & then have someone come and offer me $3. Are they crazy?

@moongoddessedgy Sorry it’s taken so long for me to write back.. it’s been a hard week. Busy too.. it was my birthday on Tuesday 🥰 I wonder this too- I’m not a wholesale buyer. I don’t buy pallets; or at really cheap prices so I can’t afford to lose a lot of money. So I agree with you! I don’t know how others are doing it either 😞 And it seems like now people expect those prices just in general (not just in lives). It’s setting a precedent- which is what I don’t like.

I don’t want to tank my closet more by making mistakes with people socially. There’s just so much pressure.. being a bit neurodivergent doesn’t really help.. @moongoddessedgy I'm saddened about the possibility of you closing. I've done 2 Live shows and will do more BUT my daughter Shanna and I did them together. I talk and show items, she starts auction, reads comments out loud, and reminds me of stuff, we've had a ton of fun doing it this way. Maybe you and Nik could do together? Also I set the price on the bags because I'm not willing to lose $ on them

@lasvegasnv I've thought about doing them with Nika, I just don't know where to do them my apartment is so full of inventory I feel like I'm drowning. I was hoping by letting people know how badly I count on posh to pay my bills would help but as of right now, I'm still $1,000 short in my bank to be able to pay my rent not including all the bills, Nikas car insurance is $250, my storage is $300 ect..
I've never been this terrified financially.

@lasvegasnv When Gayle left us 4 years ago I was very scared but all of my Posh friends helped me get through it. (you will not believe who called me, wanting my help to get her started back on posh!)
This time I don't have anyone who can help us & yesterday I got my rent increase notice for the year! Great way to kick me when I'm at my lowest!

@amoc2001 So true! that's what I see when I pop into a live! it's so dramatic & annoying. I just don't want to talk to myself & give my stuff away for penny's! I just saw some doing a live where everything is $1 but you need to buy 3 items, are you kidding me all that to get 5 cents. Screw that, I can't compete with these crazy low auctions.

I completely agree with you. It’s no longer fun🥲 plus who want to sell something for $1-$3. And the trash people list!! I have no interest in lives. I don’t have time for all that drama. I know you can create a great online store on your own and be more successful than the direction PM is going. I’m hoping to close my closet as well as I want my life back!!! No point in spending time on here as there’s not much payback. I could work at a fast food place and make more $$😫😫
