This nightgown is stunning! I wanted to keep her but she’s not my size. Vtg Shadowline White Chiffon Overlay Lace Pearl Nylon Long Nightgown Lingerie -Medium Elegant white nylon long nightgown by Shadowline, labeled size "Small " This gown has a chiffon overlay skirt and a bodice with 2 ties, embroidered lace detailing and faux pearl rings. Condition is used but in perfect condition. It’s bright white with no aging. From the tag, this is 70s-80s. I’m betting on 80’s. The design is from the early 60’s. This company remade their best selling pieces over the years including this beauty. A little history about shadowline and this piece: Shadowline was a lingerie company, located in Morganton, North Carolina. It was founded in 1946 by Sherrod Salsbury, Jr. and the company remained in the hands of the Salsbury family, under the leadership of Sherrod Salsbury, III until 2009. Shadowline garments are often hard to place a date upon, part due to the fact that if a garment sold well, the company continued production of it, sometimes for decades. The company has had the reputation of producing lingerie that is of very high quality, though a bit on the conservative side. In the spring of 2009, Shadowline closed. It was purchased by Alan Rifkin who relaunched the line.
