Vtg Pair 12” Harness Trace Chains (Hand Forged?) w/ Swivel Clevis Western Decor

I’m not entirely sure of the function of these chains given their size. Each chain measures approximately 12 inches long with a heavy oval-link chain and a swivel clevis at the end. These chains show authentic age and patina. The links are slightly irregular in shape, suggesting early hand-forged or old farm production.
