Vtg. Gunter Kerzen Eternal Candle

A wonderful, vintage 20th Century Gunter Kerzen Hand poured, carved and hand colored Eternal Candle from Western Germany. Germany was split into East and West from 1949-1990. I believe this candle to be approximately 72 years old. To use this candle, the top needs to be removed. The "wick" at the top is like a handle or knob to remove the lid. Place a standard candle inside tube, the spring will push the candle through the opening when burning. Gunter Kerzen Candles are highly collectible, this candle with a children theme is especially collectible. A group of children, holding hands around the candle which is made to look like a tree, with stems, flowers and leaves. The children, dressed in ethnic clothes, like Heidi, or from Alps. Clearly marked on bottom with stickers. Measuring: 9" tall x 5" diameter @ base. The condition is pretty darn terrific, considering age and makeup. There are some digs in the wax, as the entire thing is actually wax, there is a small dig in the lid bottom, there is also some paint missing, very minimal. Instead of calling it damage, I feel better with "Patina".
