This is a Delft Blue pitcher or vase, a type of tin-glazed pottery known as Delftware. It is 9” tall with a 3” base, and signed on the bottom. There is an R.E. Cox Fort Worth label on the bottom. The company was in business from 1933 to 1980’s. It is in good condition with no chips or cracks, but lots of crazing. See photos.
Origin: Delftware originated in the Netherlands around 1600, with the most highly regarded period of production being from about 1640–1740.
Characteristics: It is characterized by a white glaze and typically decorated with blue designs, often featuring windmills or floral patterns, hand-painted using cobalt oxide.
Collectibility: Vintage Delft Blue pieces, like the one pictured, are considered collectibles and are valued for their historical significance and craftsmanship.
In good vintage condition with small imperfections consistent with age and use.
I pack all fragile items in double or heavy duty boxes and use lots of bubble wrap. This sometimes increases shipping fees but I want your item to arrive safely.
