Vintage Natural Jet Black Obsidian Bracelet

Lovely old piece - may be handmade. The large black stone is Obsidian, a type of volcanic glass. Highly reflective. If you look closely at the 3rd pic you can see some natural brown bands in the stone that otherwise is a glassy solid black - lots of depth in this stone - when you look closely you can see tiny white specks that are on the surface & run all through the depths of the stone - very cool - these may be the tiny remains of bubbles in the lava as it cooled. Along with the obsidian center piece are silver beads in variety - double curved tubes that show a little tarnish - I think these & some of the beads are sterling. Other beads look more like silver tone to me. The toggle clasp is silver tone & may have been placed on later. Strung on tiger tail and has a bit of an Eastern vibe - would go well with Tibetan/Nepalese pieces. I think 90’s but could be older. Shown on my 6.75” wrist - I wouldn’t go bigger. Very unique - one of the coolest pieces of Obsidian I’ve run across. Obsidian is aligned with the root chakra. It grounds, balances & protects. Thought to be helpful in banishing negative energies & unwanted thoughts. Obsidian can assist in dissolving emotional trauma & may help one to heal from shadow traits such as addiction & other excessive behaviors.
