Vintage Lillie Ruben George F Couture New York formal gown. This gal is stately. It is from the 80s, but it doesn’t have an overtly 80s look to it. It’s very classic with back zip closure. The top through the waist is Plisse style that gathers at the triangle rhinestone ornament in the center waist before falling to a fuller skirt that is a combination of sequins and lace with a tulle underlay. The black sequins gives it a subtle sparkle. Long sleeve. The shoulders are lightly padded. Tag size 10 and featured on my size medium dress form for scale. It fits well. Laying flat measures 56 inches shoulder to hem and 18 inches armpit to armpit, but the folds of the plisse give it a little bit of wiggle room. 15 inches straight across the waist. Hips are free. No noted flaws. Absolutely stunning. The scale cost a pretty penny back in the day. Timeless, traditional, classic old money, mother of the bride groom.
