Vintage/FLOWERS & BIRDS Painting /Ashikaga Period by Genga Original Wooden Frame

There is slight water damage along the matted frame in a couple of places but it is very minor. I bought this years ago in a thrift shop. This is really a beautiful piece. The painting in the image is a Japanese scroll, print likely from the Ashikaga Period (1336-1573), and is titled "Flowers and Birds". The artist is often attributed to Genga, who was active during the early 16th century. This type of artwork, also known as a kakejiku, is a traditional Japanese hanging scroll. It often combines painting and calligraphy, and is meant to be displayed and appreciated.
