Hans Christian Anderson Princess and the Pea Decorative Plate Royal Copenhagen Plate celebrates the famous fairy tale “Princess and the Pea. White porcelain with gold gilt surrounding the circumstance of the plate. Gold gilt had an elaborate decorative design with swans, flowers, birds and butterflies. All colors vibrant. Scene is of the princess candidate climbing the many mattresses not knowing a pea is hidden underneath them. Designed by Pauline Ellison in 1975. Condition is in excellent previously owned condition. No cracks, chips or repairs. Colors of images are vibrant. All gold gilt is intact.
