This vintage ring features a childhood character in the form of a famous Mouse. The piece is silver with inlaid block turquoise, coral, and black jet. This depiction of Mickey with big shoes appeared in 1928, and we know that Disney attempted to stop production of these characters in the 1970s. Given the use of use of inlay as a method, we estimate this piece to have been made in the 1960s to early 70s. Native American depictions of Disney characters are termed "Zuni Toons," a play on the term "Looney Tunes." These pieces are highly collectible.
