vintage wooden spice rack from the 1940s, given to my mom as a wedding gift in 1942. It was purchased from Goldsmith Brothers in Manhattan, a company that was in business for 90 years until it closed in 1976. I don't know what kind of wood this is but it is a hard wood that is very sturdy. The backing is felt so that it doesn't scratch a wall or cabinet. It can be placed at the back of your kitchen counter or permanently screwed to a wall. I've always had it just on the kitchen counter. The rack is 14.5" tall x 10" wide. The top 2 shelves are 4" high and the bottom 2 shelves are 2.5" high.
