Vintage Whiting and Davis evening gold mesh handbag, inlaid panel with leaves

Beautiful vintage Whiting & Davis gold mesh evening handbag with gold chain strap. Thin panel of faux mother-of-pearl with inlaid leaf pattern. Interior is stamped: Whiting & Davis Mesh Bags, Made in USA and the number 2303. Excellent condition -- some very light staining on the beige/peach fabric interior (see photo). This purse was probably produced in the 1950s or 1960s. Truly beautiful and rare!
