“Greetings from staging in Alpine, TX! I’m a vintage violet felt Makins New York crafted hat. I’m preloved, in good condition retaining my intended shape. Makins hats were ‘hand blocked,’ one at a time in their factory in New York city. Marsha Akins began production in 1974 and molded the raw hat bodies over wood blocks. She had been designing and producing hats for over 40 years; however, as of October 2013, the American hat company know as Makins Hat Company LTD has closed.”
