Vendôme was formed in the late 1940s as a subsidiary of Coro, the American costume jewellery manufacturer. The Vendôme line of jewellery was pitched at the high end of the costume jewellery market and was Coro's most expensive line. Vendôme jewellery was designed to emulate French fashions of the time and was marketed to elite ladies of the time.
