Vintage USQMC Shenango China Gravy Boat

This is a vintage U.S. Quartermaster Corps (USQMC) gravy boat made by Shenango China in New Castle, PA. It is made of ironstone or ceramic. The marking on the bottom reads "USQMC SHENANGO CHINA, NEW CASTLE, PA". These gravy boats were produced during the World War II era for use in military mess halls. The embossed mark features a sword through a rope loop. It is approximately 9.5" long and 4.5" tall.
