Set of six mid-century modern teaspoons in the “Design 3” pattern by Don Wallance for Lauffer, later marketed by Towle Silversmiths. The spoons are 18/8 stainless steel with a satin finish and gently flared sculptural handles, each marked “LAUFFER ® 18/8 JAPAN.” Design 3 was introduced in the 1960s and produced into the 1980s, with pieces made in Norway, Germany, and Japan; this set is from the Japanese production run. Each spoon measures about 6 3/8" long and comes in the original Towle Silversmiths box, making this a nice replacement group or starter set for collectors of vintage Lauffer flatware.
Spoons are in good vintage condition with typical light surface scratches and spotting from normal use and cleaning, no bends or deep gouges. Satin finish still presents well. The Towle box shows age toning, spotting, edge/corner wear, and handwriting on the lid. See pictures for further details on condition.
