This vintage gray owl brooch was made by the Takahashi family. Although not signed, it is made from hand carved wood and has painted features. The roll-over clasp is affixed to the back with the appropriate pins and the owl has the signature "feet" of an authentic Takahashi bird. It measures 1 1/2" tall. There is crazing to the lacquer, a spot on the breast and wear to the enamel paint on the left "ear" as well as a small bend in the pin barb (please see last four photos). I have adjusted the price to reflect these minor issues. The roll-over clasp is in good working order. It is a wonderful piece and would make a thoughtful gift.
