These traditional Solje brooches were crafted out of silver filigree with silver cupped discs or "spoons" that reflect sunlight like droplets of water. They were believed to keep the wearer safe from evil spirits, keep illness at bay and promote healing. The discs are said to reflect negativity and evil.
