Vintage Sterling Silver, Onyx, Marcasite, & Garnet Crested Long Tail Bird Brooch

Since ancient times Onyx is believed to absorb negative energy. Birds were a popular symbol and seen as messengers between humanity and the gods. The Sterling Silver is set with Marcasite on the head and down the wings into the tail. The breast is a large Black Onyx stone, & finally the eyeis set with a deep red garnet.
