New Dated Events World War Map published by The Grolier Society Ltd.
A bold colorful map of the world drawn by artist Stanley Turner on behalf of C.C. Petersen Advertising, who licensed the rights to companies in the U.S. and Canada that would produce the maps for distribution to the public. This particular example was published by the Groldier Society Limited and printed in Brooklyn by the United States Printing and Lithograph Company.
Nearly thirty different editions of the Dated Event War Map were issued over the course of the conflict.
The map shows the world on a slightly modified Mercator projection, with territory colored according to it status in the ongoing global conflict. Military bases are identified using the symbol of the belligerent identified in the legend. Notes throughout the image give a decidedly biased overview of select events that had occurred in the war until late 1942, notably the U.S. victories in the Guadalcanal campaign and the Russian Winter Offensive. Blank on verso. 26 x 19.90"
Shows some wear on seams and a little discoloration.
