In ancient Egypt turquoise was called mefkat, which meant “joy” and “delight.” The cuff will surly provide the wearer just that.
Picked up during a trip to Africa and of course a stop Egypt, how could this show stopper like the others being offer not have caught the eye and not been brought back to the US.
Adorned with faces of a pharaoh in the silver and scarab beetles carved into the turquoise. Like the turquoise the scarab had significance in ancient Egypt. As a symbol of birth, life, death, and resurrection, the little scarab beetles took on significant regenerative powers.
However, today...this cuff is just a beautiful piece sure to joy and delight!
