I found this beauty at a boutique in a trendy Carolina town in 1994. It came from an indie designer in Santa Monica. Dupioni silk was having a heyday, and this dressy tank was one of the more inspired uses of the beautifully flubbed fabric. Evocative of a corset. Classy–sexy. The side zipper makes it easy to put on. The darts give it feminine shaping while the metallic sheen and squared necklines give it power. The lining keeps you comfortable and nicely shaped. It’s just something else. I wore it to a party once and felt like a queen. I guess I looked like one too, because babies followed :)) and my size M became L for good.
