Beautiful vintage Japanese juban; a woman's undergarment. Lots of handstitching. Appears to be silk, the lining looks to be a shantung silk.
Flaws: one tiny hole in lining
On the inside at back of neck, there's a piece that's coming unsewn on one end.
Under one arm, there's some stitching that's become unsewn
The colors are tan-taupe, purple, avocado green, and kind of a terracotta color. Very elegant, subdued and neutral color palette.
Length 45 inches

Hello! So this is actually a women's undergarment, a juban, which is worn under the kimono and arranged to be slightly visible at the neck. See that white scrap of fabric stitched to the collar? That's called a "han eri" translated as "half collar". It's an interchangeable accessory that let's you change up the look of the kimono a bit. If you find a kimono-like garment with that, it's always meant to be a juban.

@epru2869 Thank you so much for the information! I tried to do some research because I am unfamiliar with this type of garment but I went down the wrong rabbit hole.
