"Vintage Modernist" jewelry was designed from the 1930's-1960's by jewelers who wanted to move away from styles preceding them, feeling they had more in common with the painters, sculptors and other modern artists of their day. The goal was to create works of art that people could wear. Evidence of this can be found in this dimensional "Vintage Modernist" wire mesh flower brooch/pin.
