This is a vintage piece made in Sarreguemines, France in the early 1900’s. Sarreguemines is a town known for its pottery and ceramics. The Sarreguemines Pottery Works was founded in the late 18th century and became famous for its high-quality earthenware and porcelain. The Etna series, produced in the early 1900s, is characterized by its unique crystalline glaze and organic shapes. This vase exemplifies the Art Nouveau style, which emphasized natural forms and decorative motifs. The gourd shape and green crystalline glaze are typical of the Etna series, reflecting the period's fascination with nature and innovative glazing techniques. These vases are highly sought after by collectors of Art Nouveau ceramics. Very small white scratch under neck of vase, shown in photo, otherwise in perfect condition. Vase measures 9”H, 13”W, 6 1/2”B and weighs 6.4 lbs requiring additional shipping cost. Comes from non smoking home.
