Vintage Russian Folk Art Ornate Handmade Canister With Beautiful Straw Inlay

This beautiful vintage Soviet era lacquered canister is a treat to the eyes. With intricate straw inlaid pattern to the lid and sides it really pops out against the dense dark brown background. The maker must have spent so many hours creating this! The canister has a felt bottom with the original quality inspection sticker. There are some areas where the lacquer, varnish or shellac has chipped off the straw pieces, and a small ding to the underside of the lid but it doesn't really detract from the piece. The USSR APT label was a state quality mark that certified that consumer, production, and technical goods met quality standards in the Soviet Union.
