This captivating hand-blown glass paperweight is a signed original piece by renowned American glass artist Robert Eickholt. Dated 1984, this vintage piece features a unique, iridescent gold/champagne exterior that shimmers with an oily rainbow effect.
The interior design showcases two distinct, rich purple hearts (or deep tear-drop shapes), creating a striking contrast against the pale iridescent ground. Subtle red lines curve around the orb, adding dimension to the design. The base is signed and dated "Eickholt 1984".

Robert Eickholt is a celebrated glass artist who founded Eickholt Glass in Columbus, Ohio, in 1978. He developed his craft after studying glassblowing in Berkeley, California, and later at Ohio State and the Columbus College of Art and Design. Eickholt's studio is particularly known for distinctive art glass creations, including paperweights, which often incorporate precious metals and rare oxides for their unique coloring and iridescent effects. Robert Eickholt announced his retirement in May 2013.
