Vintage Roanoke Island 2-ring flip cookbook. The inscription says, "The recipes in this little book were collected by members and friends of the Manteo Woman's Club, Manteo, N.C." The recipes are printed on 3.5" x 5" index card-sized stock and include the following categories: Bread, Meat, Vegetables, Desserts, Sauces and Dressings, and Miscellaneous. This collection includes such classics as Clam Fritters, Shrimp Fondue, Eggplant Surprise, Buttermilk Pie, Carolinian Tipsy Cake, Lemon Chiffon Pie, Whiskey Balls, and Hot Mexican Bean Dip. The name of the "donor" of each recipe is printed at the bottom of the card. Very cute little community cookbook in good vintage condition!
