@emmawchapman probably the flash. Also copper is a natural element so there are spots in the copper.

@emmawchapman there is a video. All the vintage RW tea kettles whistle. I have found, refurb, and have sold many RW for many years. I think many people don’t know how to keep clean copper they think it’s old and discolored.
