Vintage Religious Funeral Home Fan – “Christ on the Mount of Olives” – R. E. Nichols Chapels Advertising (c. 1940s–50s) Vintage cardboard hand fan featuring a devotional image of Christ on the Mount of Olives. Back advertises R. E. Nichols Chapels (Clinton Hwy 13, Deepwater, Montrose, Lowry City, Missouri), with the slogan “The Very Best Costs No More.” Patent No. 2,449,701 (late 1940s). These fans were distributed at churches and funeral services in the mid-20th century, often provided by funeral homes. Measures approx. 7” tall. Shows wear consistent with age—creases, edge losses, some discoloration (see photos)—but still displays well as a piece of folk-religious Americana.
