Vintage Red Wing 1940's Incised Peasant Cookie Jar

Vintage Red Wing 1940's Incised Peasant Cookie Jar Story behind the Cookie Jar: A July 1942 brochure named this line “Hand Painted Pottery” and the three shapes were Incised Peasant, Rose and Fruit. All of these items were hand painted, but the colors were “cold painted” over the glaze rather than fired under the glaze like most Red Wing products. Over time and with repeated cleanings these colors tend to wash off. As you can see some of the painting of the peasants are missing due to the cold painted and being cleaned over the years. The lid has a chip inside edge other than that it's in good vintage conditions for being from the 1940's.
