This listing is for a vintage, figural shoe pin cushion. I am not sure if the material is porcelain, bisque, or china? The base is signed Made in Occupied Japan. "Occupied Japan" refers to the period between 1945 and 1952 when Japan was under the control of the Allied Powers following World War II, led by the United States. During this time, many goods, including ceramics, figurines, and other collectibles like the porcelain shoe pincushion shown in the image, were manufactured in Japan and marked with "Made in Occupied Japan". These items are now considered collectibles due to their historical significance and the limited period during which they were produced.
The fabric the pins are in is a tan/brown color. It measures approximately 3 3/8" across. It is free of chips, cracks and crazing, but there is a slight paint chip on the dot, on the front toe of the shoe.
I have other sewing notions and pin cushions listed in my closet, as shown in the last photos. This listing is only for the shoe pin cushion. Buy with confidence, careful packaging promised. I love to bundle.
