Vintage Pewter Plate With Cardinal By RWP From John James Audubon Society

What a beautiful decorative collector's plate featuring a cardinal, a bird species commonly found in North America, perched on a branch with foliage and berries.  It is beautiful pewter with a textured green border. The plate is framed by a textured green border with a leaf design and a silver inner rim.  At the bottom, a decorative banner reads "John James Audubon," indicating that the design is inspired by the work of the famous ornithologist, naturalist, and painter.  Audubon is well-known for his extensive studies and detailed illustrations of American birds in their natural habitats, compiled in his renowned work "The Birds of America".  The plate is displayed on a black wire stand, suggesting it is intended for display rather than everyday use.  What a beautiful find. It is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws noted except minor scuffing on the back from storage. The colors are bright and beautiful with no fading noticed. It measures 11 inches in diameter.
