Vintage Orange Indonesian Hand Painted Offering Basket With Lid 7" x 7" x 6" Vintage Indonesian Painted Wedding or Temple Offering Basket. This wonderful hand woven basket made of split bamboo from the Islands of Indonesia. These baskets are woven into squared shapes and come in multiple sizes which can often fit inside each other as part of a nesting set. They are often used as packaging for wedding gifts or filled with items to be offered to the Gods in Temples. This basket as well as being hand woven is also hand painted, it is decorated in yellow and red with dashes of white, blue and green. The basket is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age, scuffs and scrapes, obtained over many years of service. This basket measures approximately 7” inches square and 7” inches tall. It would be a beautiful storage basket for any ethnic home or office, a lovely catch all for any household item, it would also make a wonderfully unique alternative to paper gift wrap, the packaging being part of the gift.
