Vintage Octagonal Shenango China Dragon Plate with Gold Accent

Intricate lavender dragon design on an 8” octagonal plate. Features gold accent on the rim. Ideal for display or collection. No chips, cracks lines or crazing. It does have what appears to be several utensil marks on the body of the dragon (See last enlarged photo). Shenango China Company was incorporated in 1901 and a plant built in New Castle, PA, making semi-vitreous restaurant ware and dinnerware. In 1979 the Shenango plant was sold to Anchor Hocking Corp. They sold the plant in 1987, which dates this plate to between 1979 and 1987. This interesting plate was on display at The Dragon Dreams Museum in Chattanooga, TN, which closed permanently in 2016. I have recently purchased the contents.
