Marked MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN.
The "Made in Occupied Japan" mark was required on Japanese exports between 1947 and 1952 by the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers (SCAP). The mark helped distinguish goods made by the new, peaceful Japan from those of pre-war Imperial Japan and also assisted in reviving Japan's export industry.
