Amazing vintage jacket label is Parsons Meares New York. From a costume shop but likely originally a theatre piece. Made in USA, has a Union made tag. Button front, with dramatic back cut outs and pleated back 'skirt'. Unknown is man's or woman's, has waist shaping but no darts. Unisex if the measurements work. Marked M, fits large on a woman's 12 dress form. Length 40", shoulders 16.5"-17", pit to pit 22", chest 44", waist 39", hips 46". Mysteries - zipper at sleeve top, couldn't detach easily but may do so (makes sense it would unless zippers are just decorative). Has belt loops, positioned low. Original label looks to read Religious Sex. No fabric content, twill possibly wool or cotton blend. Nice quality. Condition very good, light wear - well cared for and stored. One of a kind, unique - versatile.
