Vintage NWT Stenay Deadstock 100% Silk Beaded Evening Gown Dress Deep Green 12 This stunning deep green silk evening gown is right out of fashion history. It is an original Stenay circa the 1980's. Made from a 100% silk chiffon layered over a matching satin crepe. The body of the dress is intricately decorated with rows of glass bugle beads in an eye catching opalescent oil slick finish, while the neckline, hem, straps, and deep thigh slit are layered in rows of tightly sewn matching beading. Stenay was known for their hand crafted styles so these have been most certainly hand beaded. I can only imagine how long it took to bead this entire dress. The cut of the dress is quite slinky with a v-neckline, spaghetti straps, and deep thigh slightly off center. It is cut on a bias for a universally flattering fit. It was extremely hard to capture the color of this beauty in a photo. It looks black in the pictures but it is actually a deep emerald green. This beautiful vintage gem still has the original tags from the 1980's where it was sold at HECHT'S. It even has a bag of replacement beads attached. While this is technically brand new with the original tags, it is at least 40 years old and has some damage from storage. There is hanger damage to the beading on the straps from being stored in a closet on a hanger for some time. There is also some loose beading on the body. This is a vintage size 12.
