The Southwest colors in this five-strand dyed, natural-seashell bead and glass spacer-bead necklace stand out for their gentle calm strength: blue-green, salmon, brown and amber. The large beads are shell chunks that are organically, irregularly, naturally shaped (with smooth edges) and dyed harmonious Southwest shades; they vary from 1/4" to 1/2" 3-4 in size. The translucent amber glass seed beads are slightly smaller than 1/8" x 1/8", and there are 3 or 4 of them between each shell bead. The five strands nest evenly and hang beautifully when worn. All are well strung on doubled linen thread with metal endcaps. The clasp is tongue-in-groove with a nicely accented round center housing covered in the same natural shell beads topped by the amber spacer beads to secure them. The clasp is marked "Japan" on the back and is vintage ~1970s. The strands range in length from 15.5" to 19" and are all nicely nested. Overall gently used excellent vintage condition. The colors especially evoke the 1970s and could easily be worn with an elegant "Beach Grandma" ensemble, to a beach cafe or with a cami, jeans and hat. Nicely made and timeless in style and colorway.
