Moroccan wedding blankets (Handira) are a marriage celebration tradition that originated with the Berber tribes, they are meticulously handwoven out of sheeps wool, cotton and linen in anticipation of a wedding by the brides female relatives. It can take hours, even weeks of work to attach metal mirrored sequins (which are authentic elements of Handira throws) once the weaving is complete.
