Vintage Monet Gold Tone and Red Enamel Pierced Dangle Drop Earrings

This is a pair of vintage costume jewelry type earrings for ears that have been pierced made by Monet. Monet is one of the first to make costume jewelry and also became one of the biggest and best known for the jewelry. Founded in 1929 by brothers Michael and Jay Chernow and called Monocraft at first and started by creating metal monograms for handbags. By 1937 they had shifted their focus to producing high quality yet affordable costume jewelry under the name of Monet.They started becoming popular for their elegant and classic designs that emulated the look of fine jewelry at a much lower price point. They are also recognized for many innovations in manufacturing of jewelry such as a much more comfortable clip on earrings. These are a pretty red enamel paint on a gold based unknown metal. They are about 2" long X 1.50" wide and are for pierced ears.
