Measuring 14" in length by 9 1/2" wide, this platter is in very good condition for its age. Manufactured in Japan this pattern was first produced in 1959 making it vintage mid-century modern. It features a pretty motif of muted yellow flowers and gray/spice/beige leaves and gold trim. The gold does have some worn places and there is a small chip on the foot of the platter but, is in overall really nice condition. If you're looking for a mid-century Modern fine china pattern this is a pretty to start collecting.
Sears introduced the Harmony House brand in 1940 as an interior decorating program for their customers so they could create a beautiful home that complemented throughout without much guesswork The brand's program included dinnerware, flatware, cooking essentials, napkins, fabric, furniture, draperies, and bedding. It was an extremely popular program and profitable for Sears Roebuck.
