This type of saw was commonly used in the mid-20th century, particularly in the 1950s, for cutting frozen foods. It was manufactured by Langner Mfg. Co. in New York. The saw is characterized by its distinctive Bakelite handle, often seen in a swirled brown and butterscotch color, and a non-interchangeable blade. It is considered a vintage kitchen collectible today.
