Vintage Mid Century Modern MCM Vase Ceramic Pottery Orange Black Iridescent 9.5"

This is an absolutely stunning Mid Century Modern ceramic vase that can light up your room and your conversations. The orange glaze has a tremendous depth that makes it seem to glow, and that gives the impression of glass-like translucence. The lower curve is an iridescent black that blends upward into the orange, giving a lava-like look. The upper rim and handles have an additional smoky yellow-tan speckling that lays smoothly within the orange in a marrow pattern, giving the impression of a rough texture inside of the glassy orange. The handles curve almost sensually around the body as they descend, and they flow seamlessly out of and back into the body of the vase without any abrupt joinings, so that the entire vase is truly a single piece. This is an extremely fine example of Mid Century Modern art. It deserves a lighted shelf in a darkened display alcove, or a central position on an end table where it can be admired and cherished. There seems to be a makers mark on the bottom, possibly DC, but it is not clear.
