Alluring Glass cocktail pitcher with cane wrapped handle and glass stir stick to match, designed by Carl Auböck, a master of Modernist Design. Pitcher measure (8.75" tall x 3.5" in diameter) Stirrer is 9.5 inches. A bit of history, emphasizing the importance of this piece: design and production of this fine pitcher came out of the Vienna-based workshop, known as Werkstätte Carl Auböck, which was part of the Austrian art movement, Wiener Werkstätte, established in 1903. It was a collective of architects, artists, designers and artisans dedicated to the production of utilitarian items in different medium, hence the forward trajectory of Modernist Design. The workshop of Carl Auböck has been operated by a lineage of Carls - I, II, III, and IV who have collectively accumulated an extensive and impressive list of art and design credentials spanning over 120 years. This stylistic piece is in nice vintage condition with consistent patina for its time and use.
