Vintage Mid Century Art Pottery Fish Plate Bitossi Italy Japan Wall Hanging

Offering a beautiful mid century art pottery plate featuring a fish motif. The texture of the plate and the glazing are just fantastic on this piece! Measurements: 6 1/8 inches diameter x 7/8 inches tall. The plate does have a maker's mark - a symbol that looks kind of like a tree - on the bottom. Or it's possible the mark could be a Japanese character? I am not a pottery expert and have not been able to identify it. The style reminds me of some Bitossi (Aldo Londi) pieces, but I also see Japanese influence. The plate is in very good condition. The only imperfection we found is a chip on the foot (bottom) of the plate, which cannot be seen when the plate is displayed. There is a hanger attached to the back which appears to be original to the piece, so the new owner may easily hang the plate. I do not know if the piece is food-safe, so best to assume it is not.
