Vintage Metropolitan Museum of Art Golden Persian Lion Brooch Pin

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Persian Lion Head Brooch is a vintage, gold colored metal pin with an asymmetrical design. It is a reproduction or inspired piece from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, specifically cast from one of a pair of Achaemenid lion heads from ancient Iran, dating back to between the 5th and 4th centuries BCE. The brooch is 2.5 inches long and has a brass base. The back is marked with "© MMA 1991," indicating their production date and vintage status. It is finished with electroplated gold and designed to be worn both as a brooch (with a hinged pin and safety clasp) and as a pendant (with a hidden bail for a chain or cord).
