Vintage Maison Gripoix French Turquoise Glass Bead Faux Pearl Rhinestone Sautoir

Vintage mid-century French couture sautoir necklace by Maison Gripoix with faux turquoise glass beads, faux baroque pearls, and rhinestone beads. Just shy of 44 inches in length, its long enough to easily double. The faux pearls have a gorgeous iridescent sheen to them that photos dont do justice to. Incredibly beautiful piece. I am sure that this necklace is by Maison Gripoix, but Im not certain which design house they created it for. The turquoise beads are the same as those used in several pieces created in collaboration with Robert Goossens for Chanel, but the rhinestone beads are ones Ive seen more often in pieces created by Gripoix for Diorand of course, they created jewelry for a number of the couture houses. Since in the early mid-century era, those pieces being unsigned was the norm, it can often be difficult to pin down which pieces they created for who with certainty.
