This is a charming vintage pitcher vase produced by Morton Pottery in Morton, Illinois in 1943. The piece features a striking Art Deco-style fan motif and is finished in a rich burgundy glaze that highlights the sculptural lines. Though unmarked, it has been confidently identified as the #492 design. The vase is in great overall vintage condition with just a couple of tiny fleabites along the top edge and some dirt-colored discoloration on the bottom, which has not been cleaned and may be removable. A wonderful example of mid-century American pottery, this vase has been part of my personal collection for nearly 25 years and was never used outdoors during that time.
