Beautiful pair of Vintage Mid-Century Modern Old World Globe Bookends, featuring detailed rotating globes surrounded by brass metal rings and mounted on solid wooden bases. Made in Japan. Both globes rotate smoothly and show richly colored Old World cartography. Brass metal surrounds display a lovely aged patina. Wood bases are sturdy with visible grain and natural vintage wear.These vintage bookends show normal signs of age and use consistent with mid-century pieces. One of the wooden bases has a visible edge crack and wear on the bottom covering (see photos). Wood shows scuffs and finish wear. Brass rings have natural patina.
